Summer 2024 Update

On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff and volunteers at Sloane's House, we hope you have been enjoying your summer, whether at home, on the road or away.
 
Our summer months has been filled with plenty of planning meetings and networking in the community to move along our vision for Sloane's House — a paediatric respite and hospice care centre in Durham Region.
 
We are happy to share these updates with you!
 
 
Join Us: Inaugural Sloane's Stroll!
We are excited to announce that on October 26th we will be hosting our inaugural Sloane's Stroll fundraising event at the Abilities Centre in Whitby.
 
This community event will bring teams of all ages and abilities together for a four-hour relay (400PM - 800PM) with all funds raised supporting Sloane's House vision of building a paediatric respite and hospice care centre in Durham Region.
 
Sponsorship opportunities are available and team registration is now open. We are also seeking community vendors, musicians, entertainers and volunteers.

Elexicon Golf Tournament
We want to express our greatest gratitude to the team at Elexicon Energy for hosting its 4th Annual Golf Tournament at Deer Creek Golf in Ajax on August 15th. Click here to view the photo gallery.
 
As one of the charities of choice, we were honoured to be on site for the day at Ruby #5 greeting golfers and sharing about our vision of building the first paediatric respite and hospice care centre in Durham Region. The golfers had a super time playing our corn-hole game and it was a sunshine filled day for them all.

WHO WE ARE:
Sloane’s House will be a paediatric respite and hospice care centre located in Durham Region. With families and children in need currently having to travel to Toronto or Ottawa to receive care, the goal to build Sloane’s House is overseen by a Board of Directors and supported by numerous families, caregivers and community leaders. This centre will be a welcoming “home away from home” where children and their families, feel cared for by our experienced professionals, based on the family’s shared values, beliefs, needs, hopes and goals for the present and the future.
